Built to Last, Not Impress
Brett Arsta is a senior mortgage executive who has built and led lending businesses four times over, starting from a small brokerage in Mississippi and rising to the top of the wholesale mortgage industry.
About Brett Arsta
Brett Arsta is a senior executive in the mortgage and financial services industry with decades of experience across wholesale lending, third-party origination, regulatory compliance, and strategic business development. He currently holds an executive leadership role at PwrTPO, a subsidiary of Lower LLC, where he drives the company's wholesale mortgage platform and broker channel strategy.
Brett's career path didn't start in a corner office. He grew up on a farm in a small farm town and came into the mortgage world the hard way, by starting something from scratch. With encouragement from his best friend and a lot of his own drive, he launched AMS Mortgage in Ridgeland, Mississippi, as a mortgage broker helping families buy homes. It was a profession dominated by bankers. He built a place in it anyway. Before joining PowerTPO, Brett served as President and CEO of Guaranty Home Mortgage Corporation, where he led the organization through a period of significant growth. That chapter was one of four separate businesses he has built across his career, each time developing scalable platforms with strong compliance and agency relationships at their core, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac seller-servicer structures, NMLS licensing, secondary market operations, and mortgage capital markets.
What drives Brett isn't a title. It's the work itself and the people it affects. He defines success simply: ending each day knowing he made someone smile and helped humanity in some way. That outlook traces back to watching his father endure unfair treatment from an overbearing employer just to provide for their family. That image stayed with him. It shaped how he leads, and who he refuses to become. He models his decision-making partly on Warren Buffett's approach, specifically Buffett's discipline around removing toxic people and investing time and energy only where values align. Brett holds Christian spiritual values at the center of his personal life, not bound to a denomination, but grounded in kindness and paying blessings forward.
Brett lives in Franklin, Tennessee, in the Nashville area, and is known for a competitive, results-focused leadership style that carries over to the golf course, where he's an avid player. Beyond work and sport, he has spent more than 20 years coaching youth team sports, helping kids build confidence and grow. When Nashville flooded, he organized a crew to help less fortunate residents demo water damage so they could access FEMA relief and rebuild. He and his family also opened their home for over a year to a classmate of one of his children who had lost their house in that same flood, providing housing and transportation. For Brett Arsta, leadership has never been just a professional posture. It's something he lives.
